Water Play

Water water water! This is a water table feature at our school. It was designed by the staff and director especially for the kids. It is placed at their level and meant to be open-ended. Staff will occasionally add color to the water to promote language. By adding color the kids express their thoughts on each color as well as add their own idea's to their play based on that color. Their are measuring cylinders, sponges, and funnels for the children to explore water in several different ways. Water play is so important to any early childhood setting, because it teaches the children about measurement; through discovery. For instance by pouring and measuring they are exposed to the process of trial and error. "How much do you need to fill that cup?" "How much is too much?" Water for children is such an exciting experience, almost every child loves to explore water.?"
